In Ukraine has created a database of local assistants of deputies
Activists paper division has launched a portal “Hangers-2” (http://posipaky-2.info/) that contains information about the assistants of deputies of the regional and local councils, said “Bigus.info”.
The website mimics the project “Henchmen” – the first open database of assistants to deputies.
From now on, all assistants to deputies of regional councils and local councils of cities of regional significance can be found on one site. The resource, called Henchmen-2, expands the possibilities of anti-corruption activists at the regional level, helps to quickly identify hidden relationships and conflicts of interest.
The search can be carried out in the name of the assistant and the name of the Deputy. In addition, you can peragawati the current composition of the deputies and their assistants for each area.
The idea of the project arose after six months of existence website Hangers that contain information about the assistants of deputies last 5 convocations. This website was an invaluable boon to investigative journalists, analysts and anti-corruption activists. At the same time, the intensification of the processes of decentralization has highlighted the need to create a similar database with information about assistants to local MPs.
Each Deputy of local Council may be up to 5 assistants working on a voluntary basis and can purchase a wide range of powers (except the right to vote at sessions). Therefore, information on assistants is a valuable resource for both investigative journalists and anti-corruption bodies.
The main goal of the project is speeding up the process of the fight against corruption, development of accountability and transparency at the local level.
As of today, the website of the Hangers-2 contains information about the assistants of deputies of the 24 regional and 24 local councils.
The greatest number of helpers is recorded in the Nikolaev region – 1003, and the largest number of MPs – 414 – in the Cherkassy region. The information is constantly updated and supplemented.
