In Zaporozhye region, the prosecutor was detained on a bribe of 5 thousand dollars

Prosecutor of Akimovsky department of Melitopol local prosecutor’s office demanded money for not bringing to criminal responsibility

In Melitopol (Zaporozhye region) detained a local prosecutor, who claimed $ 5,000 from the farmer for not bringing him to criminal liability. This is reported by the Department of Economic Protection of the National Police of Ukraine.

To remove from himself suspicions, the prosecutor drew an intermediary who was also detained.

“During the activities aimed at exposing the facts of illegal activities in the prosecutor’s office, employees of the Department of Economic Protection in the Zaporozhye region of the National Police have revealed the fact of extortion by prosecutors of undue benefits,” the report said.

It is noted that the prosecutor of the Akimovsky department of the Melitopol local prosecutor’s office was detained on August 28 while receiving the second part of the bribe amount – 2,5 thousand dollars.

Criminal proceedings are open under part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
