Local journalist Vadim Komarov was beaten up in Cherkassy

A local journalist, Vadim Komarov, was beaten in the center of Cherkasy, and now a man is in intensive care.

Doctors assess the condition of Komarov as serious, reports the communications sector of the police of Cherkasy region.

According to police, the man was walking along the street, where an unknown person attacked him and injured him. After that, the attacker fled the scene.

Chairman of the Union of Journalists Sergey Tomilenko on Facebook reported that Vadim Komarov often raised resonant themes in his works.

“Now Vadim is in intensive care in a very serious condition. The journalist often raised resonant topics, really annoyed many in Cherkasy who had great power and big money,” writes Tomilenko.

Police are looking for the attacker. Criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 121 (intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been opened. The attacker faces imprisonment of between five and eight years.
