The officer of the General Staff was fined for an unsuccessful fraud

The chief of the department of the General Staff was fined for attempting to abuse influence. This edition 368.media learned from the verdict Solomensky district court of the capital.

The colonel was detained last October while receiving three thousand dollars from a representative of the state enterprise Valdai Eco Plus. The officer promised to influence the command of the Air Force to agree on a package of documents for the contract between the Ministry of Defense and the Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. It was about permission to conduct an environmental and geological survey of the territory of the military unit in order to establish cells for oil and chemical contamination and carry out restoration work. The subcontractor was to be a private company.

In court, the colonel pleaded guilty and concluded a deal with the investigation. He was sentenced to a fine under Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code. He will pay only 25.5 thousand hryvnia.
