Ukraine hit the list of countries violating human rights
Among all the Council of Europe member countries, Ukraine is second only to Russia and Turkey in “anti-rating”
Ukraine ranked third among Council of Europe member states for violations of the human rights convention. According to “European Truth,” most often recognized violations by Russia.
During 2018, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) adopted 86 decisions admitting violations by Ukraine of at least one article of the European Convention on Human Rights. This was stated by the Chairman of the Court, Guido Raimondi.
According to this indicator, Ukraine ranked third among the Council of Europe member states. Among the leaders were also Russia (238 decisions) and Turkey (140 decisions).
Among the legally recognized violations on the part of Ukraine, most often it was a violation of the “right to liberty and security” (45 decisions), in particular, it refers to the illegal detention of citizens.
In second place (41 decisions) is an unjustifiably lengthy legal process. In third place (37 decisions) is the impossibility of obtaining effective legal protection in national courts.
In terms of decisions, the ECHR found a violation of several articles of the Convention.
True, in 5 cases that reached the final decision, no violations from Ukraine were found.
We add that due to the length of consideration in court, this is a matter of a decision regarding violations that occurred before the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine.
